El sonido escoc\u00e9s ya era una realidad condicionada por los paisajes atmosf\u00e9ricos, solo faltaba ver qu\u00e9 ocurr\u00eda si se le a\u00f1ad\u00edan cascadas de distorsi\u00f3n: un \u00e1lbum de catorce canciones donde predominan las guitarras saturadas, feedbacks, ecos y acoples junto a unas suaves melod\u00edas vocales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLa gente estaba acostumbrada a reconocer una f\u00f3rmula preestablecida y nosotros quer\u00edamos mandar los g\u00e9neros a la mierda\u201d, expres\u00f3 Jim Reid en el documental <em>Beautiful Noise<\/em> <em>(2014)<\/em>. La idea de usar los medios que ten\u00edan a su alcance se transform\u00f3 en una total vanguardia musical.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El secreto de los Mary Chain era la guitarra de William, una Gretsch potenciada con un pedal Shin-Ei. El <em>fuzz <\/em>incontrolable que barnizaba hasta los riffs m\u00e1s simples, fue el resultado de la libertad, la capacidad de explorar e interpretar el ruido.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-text-subtitle is-style-text-subtitle--1\">Una selecci\u00f3n de himnos del caos hermoso<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El \u00e1lbum abre con \u201cJust Like Honey\u201d, una obra maestra que equilibra la dulzura de sus voces con el eco nost\u00e1lgico de su percusi\u00f3n, claramente influenciada por Phil Spector. Esta pista fue parte del <em>soundtrack <\/em>de <em>Lost In Translation<\/em>, pel\u00edcula de Sofia Coppola que engancha muy bien con la nostalgia construida en el tema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Never understand<\/em> emerge como un himno agitado y visceral, mientras que <em>You Trip Me Up<\/em> encapsula la esencia del zumbido descontrolado de la banda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIn a Hole\u201d y \u201cTaste of Cindy\u201d profundizan en su color abrasivo, demostrando que el caos puede ser cuidadosamente orquestado. Cada pista en <em>Psychocandy<\/em> tiene un prop\u00f3sito claro: incomodar, seducir y desafiar las expectativas del oyente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Durante la grabaci\u00f3n, el grupo experiment\u00f3 con anfetaminas y LSD, lo que posiblemente influy\u00f3 en su sonido. Aclamado por la cr\u00edtica, el disco se convirti\u00f3 en un hito del noise pop y un precursor clave del shoegaze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Con <em>Psychocandy<\/em>, The Jesus and Mary Chain no solo redefinieron los l\u00edmites de la estridencia, sino que tambi\u00e9n sentaron las bases para una nueva generaci\u00f3n de m\u00fasicos dispuestos a explorar la disonancia como arte.
